A wireless communication system provided with: distributed stations wirelessly communicating with a terminal device; and a central station connected to the distributed station, the central station receiving signals from the distributed stations and processing the received signals; wherein the central station is provided with: a host function unit for alerting the distributed stations in advance about whether or not a signal received from the terminal device is to be coordinated between the distributed stations; a hard/soft determination unit for separating the signal received from the distributed stations between a hard decision value and a soft decision value on the basis of whether coordination among the distributed station is required, sending the hard decision value directly to the host function unit, and transmitting the soft decision value to a signal combining unit; the signal combining unit, which combines the soft decision values outputted by the hard/soft determination unit and outputs the combined value; and a decoding unit for performing decoding using the soft decision values outputted by the signal composition unit; and wherein the distributed stations are provided with a switching decoding unit that, on the basis of the need for inter-distributed station coordination as alerted by the host function unit, outputs, using the hard decision value, signals received from the terminal device that do not need to be coordinated between the distributed stations, and outputting, using the soft decision value, signals received from the terminal device that need to be coordinated between the distributed stations. |
