PURPOSE:To prevent the reliability of life managing from being spoiled by holding the counted value of a total counter on the storage medium of a life control unit and clearing a unit counter if an emergency stop state is entered at the time of power-on operation or image recording operation. CONSTITUTION:In the image recording device which records an image on a recording sheet 3 by a recording module 1 including a consumable component 2 as a life control reference, the counted value of the total counter 6 based upon the counted value of the unit counter 5 is held on the storage medium 4a of the life control unit 4 as an image recording frequency at the timing where the unit counter reaches a unit frequency. If, however, the emergency stop state is entered at the time of the power-on operation or image recording operation, the counted value of the total counter 6 which is counted according to the counted value of the unit counter 5 is stored on the storage medium 4a of the life control unit 4 and the unit counter 5 is cleared, thus performing exceptional operation by a life managing means 7. |
