PURPOSE:To prevent the misrecognition of marks by providing the marks on a course with the inter-mark distances varied and securing the correspondence between the inter-mark distances and the course data in order to confirm the passing section Nos. CONSTITUTION:The paired point marks 2, 2', 2''... are provided on a driving course 1 of an unmanned carrier 3, and the same distance C is set among all mark pairs together with different section lengths Ln, Ln-1... set among those marks. Furthermore a series of proper Nos n, n-1... are given to the marks. Then a pair of sensors 4F and 4R having a space equal to the distance C secured between both sensors detect the point marks. At the same time, the comparing operations are carried out among an entire layout diagram, the section Nos, and the section lengths which are previously inputted via an on-vehicle computer. Thus the present position and direction of the carrier 3 are decided, and the carried 3 is accurately driven on the course 1 with correction given to the position and the direction of the carrier 3. As a result, the driving course 1 of the carrier 3 can be set simply and at a low cost and at the same time the accurate and stable drive of the carrier 3 is ensured. |
