PURPOSE:To obtain a sintered beta-alumina having high Na ion conductivity and flexural strength by forming and baking a powdery mixture containing Na oxide, Mg oxide, Ti oxide and Al oxide at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:Powdery raw materials consisting of 8-10wt.% of Na oxide, 3-5.5wt.% of Mg oxide, 0.1-1wt.% of Ti oxide and the remaining part of Al oxide are mixed with each other. The mixture is calcined to form beta''-alumina powder and the powder is formed and baked to obtain the objective sintered beta-alumina having high Na ion conductivity and flexural strength. |
