In apparatus for automatically maintaining the height of a liquid in a container 10, such as a washing machine, below a given level the liquid is fed to the container 10 through a magnetically operated valve 14a and when the liquid reaches an overflow 20 the increased air pressure in a pipe 15 connected to the container 10 expands a bellows 16, or a diaphragm, to close contacts 17 in a circuit to a motor of a discharge pump 13 which discharges liquid from the container 10 at a greater rate than the liquid fed through the valve 14a.</p> |
