PURPOSE:To suppress overhead due to the transfer of an initializing pattern in an initializing routine by selecting the initializing pattern to be used for an initial phase and updating data to be updated in the succeeding processing phase, storing the selected contents in a table and selectively outputting the contents of the table. CONSTITUTION:In the case of using EBCDI as the character system of an executing edition instruction, '1' is sent to character code forming means 1 to 4 as a character code in the initial phase of instruction execution and respective means 1 to 4 output character patterns corresponding to the character code '1'. At such a time, a control circuit 9 outputs an instruction for selecting the initializing character patterns to the 1st selectors 11 to 14 and sends a write instruction signal to the 1st selectors 11 to 14. The 1st selectors 11 to 14 select character codes corresponding to respective EBCDI codes and store the selected results in respective tables 5 to 8. In the case of reading out data from the tables 5 to 8 during the succeeding processing, any one of the tables 5 to 8 is selected and outputted based upon a table reading address received by the 2nd selector 10 from an external unit. |
