[Also in Division F1] Door or window sliding locking bolts 36 are operated simultaneously by forcing fluid from a control circuit chamber 25 into the series-connected working chambers 29-32 of bolt actuators 6-9. The control circuit comprises three members 3, 4, 5 in series, so that if the dashboard knob 47 is pulled or pushed then fluid will be pumped into or withdrawn from chamber 21. As chamber 22 is connected to 21 then this fluid flow will move the piston between the chambers 22, 23 and vary the volume of the chamber 23, and since chamber 23 is connected to chamber 24 then the piston between the chambers 24, 25 will move and vary the volume of the chamber 25 to operate the bolts. Pivoted levers 45, 46 may be operated by the keys of external safety locks, each to move up or down a rod 42 connected by a yoke 41 to the piston 15, which movement varies the volume of chamber 25 and operates the actuators and bolts as before. It may be arranged that in operation an open window prevents a rod 36 from emerging from its actuator, so that since the volume of chamber 25 is used for filling completely all the volumes 29-32, then incomplete rotation of the key will show that all doors or windows have not been locked. The actuators may be arranged to close switches raising the windows when the doors are being locked. Vents 50-53 are provided at the upper points of the system. |
