SOLID INK COMPOSITION FOR INK JET RECORDING

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, containing an esterified resin of tetrahydroabietic acid or dehydroabietic acid and capable of improving adhesion and remarkably extending the usable range of recording media. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition, which is used for on-demand type ink jet recording heads and a solid at ambient temperature, provides a liquid at a higher temperature than ambient temperature and contains an esterified resin of tetrahydroabietic acid or dehydroabietic acid alone or a mixture thereof. Furthermore, the acid value of the aforementioned resin is 2-39 and the metal contents of the above-mentioned resin are preferably <=0.1ppm Cu and <=2ppm Fe. The aforementioned resin is preferably contained in an amount of 2-40wt.%.
