The drier section of a paper-making machine is ventilated by air from a passage 12 beneath drier drums 2 which is exhausted through apertures 16, 17 in passages 14, 15 extending horizontally below the roof 6 of the drier section casing adjacent to each side wall 7, 8, which passages are connected by ducts 19, 20, 21 to exhaust fans 18, and the amount of ventilation air which per unit time is removed through the exhaust passages can be adjusted by means of a change-over valve 24 located at the junction point of ducts 19, 20, 21 for each fan. The apertures 16, 17 in the passages 14, 15 are controlled by individually adjustable valves 22, 23.</p> |
