1,141,870. Thermo-copying apparatus. G. RITZERFELD. June 21, 1967 [June 30, 1966], No. 28613/67. Heading G2A. In a thermographic copying apparatus, sheets are inserted in a guide slot 32 and pass between a rotating glass cylinder 18, within which there is an infrared heater 31, and a resilient pressure roller 17 which is urged by springs 28, 29 into contact with the cylinder which is rotated by an adjustable friction drive. As the sheets are inserted, they engage a switch 33 which stops a motor driven blower 4 until each sheet has passed between the cylinder and the roller 17. The speed of the cylinder is varied by adjusting a wheel 40 so as to move a rack 42 axially. The rack 42 is either rigid with the drive motor 2 which is mounted on a support shaft 44 as shown, or else is an axial extension of the support shaft, Fig. 4 (not shown). This moves the motor 2 axially and hence a friction cone 6, rigidly mounted on a motor driven shaft 5 assumes a new adjusted position upon a friction disc 8 which is rigid with a worm shaft 7. The shaft 7 drives a roller 11 which in turn drives the cylinder 18. The motor 2 is pivotable about the support shaft 44 and is pivoted by a torsion spring 46 to maintain the cone 6 and disc 8 in contact, independently of the position or axial movement of the rack 42.
|
