PURPOSE:To obtain the subject ceramic material having excellent persistency of drug action and suitable for the prevention of infection and the remedy of affected part by putting a phospholipid and a drug in a hole or a through hole bored in a bioceramic material having dense texture. CONSTITUTION:A hole and/or a through hole are bored in a bioceramic material (preferably calcium phosphate ceramics or alumina) having dense texture and a porosity of about <=3% and harmless to living body. A liposome-forming phospholipid and a drug are held in at least one of the hole and the through- hole. The cross-sectional area of the hole and the through-hole is preferably 0.006-0.05cm<2>. When the ceramic material is brought into contact with body fluid, a liposome including the drug is formed and the drug is released from the liposome into the hole, etc., without changing the physical and chemical properties. Accordingly, the release of the drug can be retarded. |
