1,031,695. Circuits employing bi-stable magnetic elements. OLYMPIA WERKE A.G. Jan. 14, 1965 [March 25, 1964], No. 1705/65. Heading H3B. [Also in Division G4] An arrangement for selecting one of a plurality of data stores comprises a blocking wire for each store, all the blocking wires being connected in series, the blocking wire of the store to be addressed being rendered ineffective by additional switching means. The arrangement has the advantage that less total current and/or switching means are necessary for store selection than if separate blocking windings were provided. As shown in Fig. 5, five stores 21-25 have a series threaded blocking wire 26 carrying a current of ¢i, where the x and y windings (not shown), which thread all the stores 21-25, each also carry a current of ¢i. To select a store such as 22, a corresponding switch such as a22 is closed to pass a current of ¢i opposing the blocking current in the selected store. In a modification, Figs. 6-7, the blocking wire of the selected store is by-passed by a short circuit connection effected by closing or changing over a switch. |
