[Also in Division B5] Bags 223, Figs. 3, 4, made from strip material folded longitudinally off centre are sealed by an adhesive sealing tape 234 secured to the outside surface of the shorter wall 225 and the inner surface of the longer wall 224, a pull tag 233 being interposed to facilitate opening. In Fig. 5, the folded bag material 235 is fed between feed rollers 240 to rollers 241 where a sealing tape 242 is secured to it, the pull tags 233 being severed from the roll 246 and applied to the tape 242 by the combined plunger 250 and cutter 248 before sealing tape is applied to the bag mouth. A combined heat-sealer and cutter 251 separates individual bags from the strip. The strip 235 may be folded along its centre' line and a similar adhesive strip and tagapplying apparatus provided on the other side of the strip 235 so that the closure may be formed by the adhesive strips adhering to one another. |
