An electrical component, e.g. a resistor or capacitor having axial connecting leads is inserted in an aluminium container (which may be internally varnished) with one lead passing through a bored nipple which is thereafter pinched to the lead. An insulating foil is inserted between the component and the container, and the latter is filled with a synthetic potting resin and centrifuged to extract air bubbles.
