A joint construction for the assembly of laminated panels, for use in building construction for walls etc, which consist of a foamed plastic core (3) preferably a phenolic resin or polyethylene, with outer rigid plates (4) (5), (4a) (5a) e.g. asbestos, fibre, etc., in which the joint is made by pushing the two ends of the panels together with the profiled supports (6) and (7) enclosed in the protecting in complementary fashion from the edges to provide a channel or cavity (8) in which a suitable reinforcing material, e.g. a glass fabric, (9) is inserted impregnated with a resin (10) which also fills the gap between the supports (6) and (7) and the panels (4) (5), (4a) (5a) respectively. A covering layer (11) impregnated with a resin (12) is applied on one face (5) (5a) to cover the end of the labrynth channel (8), and the two impregnating resins are then hardened to form a rigid load-bearing joint, invisible on one side at least.
