Gel formation induced by non-sulphur containing organotin stabilizers in organic solutions or organosols of polymers or copolymers of vinyl chloride is inhibited by adding a 1,3- diketone as antigelling agent. The preferred anti-gelling agent is acotyl acetone. The stabilizer and antigelling agent may be added separately or simultaneously. In an example, dibutyl tin dilaurate and acetyl acetone are added to an organosol comprising polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate/maleic anhydride copolymer, epoxy resin, titanium dioxide, dioctyl phthalate, diisobutyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, high flash naphtha and dibutyl di - (triethanolamine) silicate - N,N - dioleate. |
