Polymers or copolymers of vinyl or vinylidene chloride are stabilized with 0-5-3% by wt., based on polymer, of a mixture of (1) di-(noctyl) tin 5,5<SP>1</SP>-bis-(alkyl mercaptoacetate) in which the alkyl has 1-12 carbons, and (2) di-(n-octyl) tin maleate in a weight ratio (1) : (2) of 1 : 3 to 4 : 1. The maleate is preferably a polymer of the formula where x is 2-4. In the examples, PVC or vinyl chloride propylene copolymer is stabilized; other ingredients used are calcium stearate, ABS terpolymer, glycerol monostearate, polyethylene wax, stearamide and butyl benzyl phthalate. |
