A tubular metal lamp post 2 is adjusted in a concrete socket 1 by the actuation of nuts 8 on rods 7 passing through holes in an annular wedge to jaws 9 which have part cylndrical surfaces bearing on the post and downwardly inclined surfaces 10 bearing on a guide surface 11 in the socket. A bushing 4, the surface 11 of which is a conical annulus and a plate 12 are cast integral with the socket. In a modification the jaws have screw-threaded holes engaged by threaded lower ends on rods which have a bolt head at the upper end. |
