[Also in Division G3] An electronic watch comprises a timebase producing high-frequency electrical pulses, an electronic sealer, and a time indicating device controlled by the low-frequency pulses produced by the sealer, the sealer being an integrated circuit consisting of several cascaded stages in which the later stages operating at low frequencies each comprise an amplifier C4, T4 using a field effect transistor with an insulated control electrode. The Figure ahows one of the lowfrequency stages of the sealer which halves the frequency of its input signal S1 Transistors T1-T7 are of MOS field effect type and capacitors C1-C6 are also MOS capacitors. Cp represents the input capacitance of the transistor T4 and to overcome the incorrect operation of the sealer at low frequencies due to the leakage of the charge on the capacitor Cp, each low-frequency stage includes a compensating circuit including the transistors T5-T7 and the capacitors C5, C6. The compensating circuit is supplied by a source S2 which may be the watch timebase, a preceding sealer stage producing a signal of sufficiently high frequency or an independent source. The compensating circuit periodically recharges the capacitor Cp with each pulse from the source S2 to ensure that the capacitor is charged for a sufficient time to enable the sealer to operate correctly. A modified compensating circuit including a direct voltage source is also described. |
