PURPOSE:To optically record and reproduce data by providing a dye recording layer capable of recording and reproducing data by laser beam on a substrate and providing an intermediate layer composed of a petroleum resin and a metal reflecting layer in the dye recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer composed of a petroleum resin and a metal reflecting layer are provided on a dye recording layer. As the petroleum resin, there are a 9C petroleum resin, a 5C/9C copolymer petroleum resin and a cyclopentadiene petroleum resin and this petroleum resin is dissolved in aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon, mixed hydrocarbon or the like to prepare a coating solution. This coating solution is applied to the dye recording layer and dried to make it possible to obtain the intermediate layer having thickness of 5-500 nm and the metal reflecting layer 4 is provided on the intermediate layer 3. As the metal used as the metal reflecting layer 4, Al is pref. used. The metal reflecting layer 4 is formed by vacuum vapor deposition or sputtering and a protective film 5 is provided on the metal reflecting layer 4. |
