PURPOSE:To reduce the irregularity of density occurring to a recorded image by controlling an image signal with respect to the respective image recording elements of a recording head according to data for correcting the irregularity of the density obtained by correcting calculated data for correcting the irregularity of the density again. CONSTITUTION:The average image signal is supplied to the recording head 1 and a test pattern 16 is recorded by a recording means. Then, the pattern 16 recorded by the recording means is read by a density irregularity read means 14. Besides, based on the density irregularity quantity of the head 1 calculated based on a read signal value from the read means 14, the data for correcting the irregularity of the density is calculated by a calculation means. The data for correcting the irregularity of the density calculated by the calculation means is corrected again by a recorrection means and the image signal with respect to the respective image recording elements of the head 1 is controlled by a control part 15 according to the data for correcting the irregularity of the density corrected again by the recorrection means. Thus, the irregularity of the density caused by the change of the output characteristic of the head 1 is corrected and an image with high definition is always recorded. |
