[Also in Division H1] In a terminal arrangement for a stripwound coil, an edge of a conductive tab 7 is brazed to a side edge of one end of the coil conductor strip 2, and is supported by a relatively thin conductive backing sheet 8 bonded to both the tab and the strip by clamping between a pair of carbon blocks through which current is passed. Preferably, so as to provide a firm joint, a thin strip of silver alloy is initially placed between the parts to be bonded together. The turns of the coil are insulated by a strip 3 of suitable material, e.g. high temperature resistant paper, wound with the conductor strip 2. |
