The no-break power supply switches load to output of static inverter coupled to battery when main ac supply fails. The same inverter circuit is used to charge the battery during normal operation. The output of the inverter is coupled to a transformer (T1) acting as a constant voltage transformer with resonant circuit (4). The ac supply (6) and the load (7) are connected to one of this transformer windings (3) and in series with inductors in the resonant circuit. A phase sensitive control (8) adjusts the power of the reversible inverter in both directions depending on the ac supply voltage. The advantage lies in simplicity.
