1,238,606. Shearing. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. 24 Nov., 1969 [23 Nov., 1968], No. 57319/69. Heading B3W. Crank-operated shears for cutting continuous rolled stock comprises an upper blade 12, carried by a support 8 mounted on crank-pins 6 and 7 of a drive crank-shaft 2 and a guide crank-shaft 4 respectively, and a lower blade 13 carried by a support 11 mounted on crank-pins 9 and 10 of drive and guide crank-shafts 3 and 5 respectively. Feed and delivery means, as shown rollers 14-16, are interrupted in the cutting region of the orbital paths of the blades and an arcuate element 18 freely pivotably mounted on the lower drive crank-shaft 3 is moved into alignment with the rollers when the blades are moved out of the cutting region by means such as a connecting rod 20 mounted on a crank-pin 19 on the guide crank-shaft 5. The arcuate element 18 includes a roller 21. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the rod 20 is connected to an arm (25) of a lever pivoted on the shear stand at (24) and comprising a second arm (23) which bears on a cam (22) fixed to the guide crank-shaft 5. A return cam (26) also mounted on crank-shaft 5 cooperates with a third arm 27 of the lever. Alternatively, a return spring may be provided. The delivery roller 16 is mounted on a lever pivotable by means 17 to move the roller 16 as shown to allow short cut lengths to fall into the space below the delivery rollers 15. |
