The vehicle is fitted with an automatic regulator which controls the flow of fluid to and from the suspension elements to maintain a set riding height. A special manual override control enables the driver to select a low or high ground clearance by moving the set point of the control. This is achieved by bypassing the regulating valve by a special cylinder which introduces a set amount of fluid into the pressure side, or draws off a set amount of fluid, with suitable correction to the height sensing control. The vehicle is still sufficiently sprung in either high or low setting, and the damper is not set at its end stops. The system is simple to install and can be fitted to may existing systems. |
