Ointment base comprises a liquid triglyceride, (pref. 88-97.5%), or a mixture of dicarboxylic and salicyclic esters; SiO2, (pref. 2-7%); an a wetting agent (pref. 0.5-5%) consisting of a faty acid- or alcohol polyhydroxyethylene phosphate, (esp. the lanolin, castor oil or sorbitol derivs), lecithin, alkyl sulphoate, fatty acid polypeptide condensate, or an ampholytic wetting agent of the carboxylic acid type.
