Textile softener is bis-ammonium cpd. such as reaction product of N,N-bis-chloromethyl-carbamic acid-methyl ester with distearylmethyl amine, preferably N,N-bis-chloromethyl-carbamic acid-isotridecyl ester with stearyl dimethyl amine, -isooctadecyl ester with dodecyl dimethyl amine and -n-butyl ester with distearyl methyl amine.
