Flat material, with a flocked surface applied on a dry thermoplastic adhesive applied on the surface of the material as described in BE.683,963, is prepd. by making gaps in the adhesive layer during or after the flocking process. Spec. the gaps are produced by applying bands of thermoplastic adhesive film to the carrier material or by subdividing a complete thermoplastic adhesive film applied to the carrier by means of a hot calender roller or by applying a net of thermoplastic adhesive film.
