The vulcanisation accelerator comprises a mixt. of (a) a 2-thiazolidinethione (I) of formula: (where R is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or alkoxyalkyl; cyclohexyl; phenyl; naphthyl, chloro-, alkyl or alkoxy substd. phenyl or naphthyl, aralkyl; furfuryl or morpholino-alkyl) and (b) a Zn salt of an N,N-dialkyldithiocarbamic acid, using a ratio a:b of 1/4 to 4/1.
