PURPOSE:To execute high-density recording by providing parts for forming groups at a prescribed displacement quantity and length in the direction orthogonal with the extension direction of the groups and parts where the groups are not formed in the extension direction of the groups. CONSTITUTION:The above optical disk is divided to data recording regions ARDT and reference signal recording regions ARREF at prescribed time intervals and is formed with the recording tracks consisting of the groups 4 at a track pitch TP in the form of annular lines. The parts where the groups 4 are formed at the prescribed displacement quantity and length in the direction orthogonal with the extension direction of the groups 4 and the parts where these groups 4 are not formed are provided in the extension direction of the groups 4 in this case. The recording of many valued signals is executed with the simple constitution in this way. The high-density recording is thus executed.
