1,202,585. N - substituted N - nitrosohydroxylamines. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODAFABRIK A.G. 26 Oct., 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 48736/67. Heading C2C. In a process for the production of an N- substituted N - nitrosohydroxylamine a reactant RH which is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or araliphatic hydrocarbon which may be substituted by halogen or in which a non- terminal CH 2 group may be replaced by oxygen provided that the reactant RH contains at least one hydrogen atom connected directly to an aliphatic carbon atom is reacted with nitric oxide in the presence of light having a wavelength of from 250 to 600 millimicrons and hydrogen chloride at a pressure of up to 2 atmospheres absolute. The process may be carried out continuously and the product isolated as an alkali metal or ammonium salt. In examples the sodium salts of N-nitroso-N. cyclohexyl - hydroxylamine and of N - nitroso - N - cyclo - dodecylhydroxylamine are obtained as products mercury vapour lamps being used as light sources. The process may be carried out in the presence of a substance which absorbs light of the above wavelength and has a dehydrogenating effect on CH bonds under the action of the light used.
|
