Apparatus for recording nuclear magnetic resonance spectra comprises a chart-gripping clamp 6 on a beam 5 movable in a plane so as to move the chart 2 in a plane, driving mechanism for moving the beam 5 in response to a signal corresponding to a first variable and a pen 16 on a carriage 15 movable transversely in response to a second signal corresponding to a second variable. The beam 5 is moved in guides on a table 1 by a wire or cord 7 wound round drums 10, 11 and secured at its ends to the beam 5 after passing round guide rollers 8, 9. The shaft of the drum 11 is driven in synchronism with a potentiometer sweeping the magnetic field or modulation frequency of a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer and the carriage 15 is moved along guides 17, 18 in response to the output signal of the spectrometer, thus tracing the spectrum on the chart and recording resonance values. |
