A die cavity is filled with the powdered base material. A second different, constituent is added and both constituents are simultaneously packed within the cavity to obtain a compact composite article. Preferably the first constituent is powder and the second is a fluid. The fluid is injected immediately before packing commences. Application is to pharmaceutical tablets and metallic or ceramic granules. |
