The detergent or bleaching solns. contain perborates and persulphates. The active oxygen content is 0.05-7g/litre (pref. 1.5-3.3 g/litre) and at least 50% (pref. 70-90%) of the active oxygen is provided by the perborate. The pH or a 1% soln. is 8-11 (pref. 8.5-10.5). The solns. bleach more effectively at low temps. than those of the same active oxygen content contg. only perborates. They are used for the bleaching and washing of heat sensitive textiles esp. drip dry synthetic and cotton/synthetic fabrics. |
