<p>PURPOSE:To execute the processing of the device at high speed and to improve the function of the device by traveling a magnetic tape to the position of access at high speed while switching a track at the read position of a magnetic head to a track to be accessed. CONSTITUTION:After the power source of the device is turned on, a track position detection part 7 of a magnetic tape control part 3 detects the track at the read position of the magnetic head from an address storage part 13. After the detection, a track switching part 9 reads out the track to be accessed from the prescribed address of the address storage part 13. The track switching part 9 switches the read position of the magnetic head to the read track. A file mark detection part 11 detects the traveling direction of the magnetic tape and discriminates the direction. A fast forwarding and rewinding mechanism part 15 travels the magnetic tape to the access position at high speed.</p> |
