Gas-liquid mixer consists of: a vessel with single continuous wall extending upwards from is bottom to above the liquid level in the vessel for dividing the liquid into an inner and an outer part; an inlet for the liquid; and a gas inlet placed so that the gas is introduced into the inner liquid part near the lower end of the wall in order to cause liquid circulation in the inner liquid part upwards and then downwards, the liquid at the lower end of the inner liquid part being connected with the outer liquid part. Esp. useful for aerating sewage sludge. Efficient mixing of the gas and liquid are obtained.
