The chuck body has a tapered shank for fitting to the machine tool. A conical ring with a parallel bore and a longitudinal slot fits inside an outer cone. The surface of the ring matches the surface of the outer cone which also has a longitudinal slot. The outer cone fits in the parallel bore of the chuck body and is prevented from rotating by the pin. The Belleville washer forms an elastic stop for the outer cone when the nut is tightened on the thread to push the inner cone into the outer cone and at the same time grip the parallel shank of the milling cutter which fits in the bore. |
