<p>The active component must be the double phosphate of N-morpholinylmethyltetracyclin (I) and oleandomycin (II). The polyantibiotic is pref. prepd. by reacting 2 equivs. of (I) with 1 equiv. of (II) in aqs. medium in the presence of phosphate buffer at pH 8. The double phosphate formed is then sterile filtered and subjected to lyophilic drying. Pref. (I) : (II) is 1.5:1. The polyantibiotic is active against tetracyclin- and oleandomycin-sensitive- as well as -resistant strains of pathogenous micro-organisms. It may be used against septic-conditions and other severe infections e.g. intravenous administration may be used against abcess-forming pneumonia, hospital-, puepural-, gynaecological- and surgical sepsis, gas gangrene and actinomycosis, etc.</p> |
