PURPOSE:To perform proper line thickness increase or decrease processing without any deterioration in quality by deforming contour information which is read out according to deformation contents, making corrections corresponding to the deformation contents according to the contour information, and outputting the corrected contour information. CONSTITUTION:When a character 'H' is inputted as code information through an input part 1 and made thin, pieces of vector font information on control points 101 - 128 of the character 'H' are read out and their coordinate points are calculated respectively. The contour control point of a normal contour 300 which is thus obtained are moved corresponding to vectors 301 - 328 based upon vector information for the line-thickness increase processing to form a contour 400. Then the vectors 301 - 328 are decomposed into (x) and (y) components, whose scalar quantities are corrected according to specific algorithm based upon a correction table. Consequently, the line-thickness increasing or decreasing processing is performed without any deterioration in quality. |
