1303942 Chromogenic printing inks NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO 21 April 1971 [1 Feb 1971] 10390/71 Heading C4A A normally colourless, basic, chromogenic printing ink which reacts with an acidic recording material sensitizing substance to produce a blue colour comprises an organic solvent having dissolved therein crystal violet lactone, viz. 3,3 - bis - (p - dimethylaminophenyl)- 6 - dimethylaminophthalide, and at least one of 2<SP>1</SP> - anilino - 6<SP>1</SP> - diethylamino - 3<SP>1</SP> - methylfluoran, 21 - methyl - 6<SP>1</SP> - cyclohexylaminofluoran, 3,3 - bis - (1 - ethyl - 2 - methylindol - 3 - yl)phthalide, or 3,3 - bis - (1 - benzyl- 2 - methyl - indol - 3 - yl)phthalide. The ink may also contain benzoyl leuco methylene blue, viz. 3,7 - bis - (dimethylamino) - 10 - benzoylphenothiazine. Specified solvents are toluene, petroleum distallate, perchloroethylene, xylene, high boiling petroleum fractions and chlorinated diphenyls. |
