A load transfer and pallet stacker for use with a platen bearing lift truck, whereby a load is transferred from a pallet directly on to the platen, and the pallet is vertically stacked. A traction plate, transfer unit and elevator unit are interconnected to make the device portable. Push-pull and push only truck-operated units are described, as well as a power-operated unit.
