PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost and weight of an ultrasonic motor and simplify the manufacturing process of the motor by constituting a displacement enlarging section for enlarging displacement caused by the progressive wave of flexural oscillations of a fiber-reinforced plastic material. CONSTITUTION:A displacement enlarging section 101 of a fiberreinforced plastic material is constituted by injection-molding a kneaded product of carbon fibers and a polyphenylene sulfide resin. An annular oscillating body 104 composed of the enlarging section 101, an annular elastic substrate 102 made of stainless steel, and a piezo-electric body 103 is constituted by successively bonding the substrate 102 and piezo-electric body 103 to the bottom of the annular displacement enlarging section 101. This annular ultrasonic motor is constituted by bringing an Al moving body 105 having a contact width narrower than that of the oscillating body 104 into contact with the oscillating body 105 with a pressure. Therefore, no complicated machine working is required for forming a projecting body and, at the same time, this motor can be formed easily with metal molds. |
