PURPOSE:To achieve reliable forward and reverse rotation of step motor by providing a pulse for demagnetizing the constricted part of the outer notch of a saturated stator and outputting a stabilized pulse upon provision of a reverse rotation pulse. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 1 is rotated forwardly to the vicinity of a neutral point (a) by means of a repulsion pulse A. The rotor 1 is then subjected to attractive acceleration by means of an attraction pulse C and subsequently exceeds a dynamically stable position (b). Thereafter, the rotor 1 is repelled by a repulsion pulse D and exceeds a neutral point (b) and subsequently converged to the statically stable point (a). A pulse stop interval E is provided in order to eliminate influence of next pulse F on the behavior of the rotor 1. The pulse F demagnetizes the constricted part of the outer notch of a stator saturated by the repulsion pulse D thus preventing next output pulse from rising with lag. Consequently, a high performance reverse rotation driving pulse can be obtained by providing a pulse stop interval E and a pulse F. |
