<p>To protect the tube plate of a shell and tube heat exchanger against corrosive fluids, the exposed faces of the plate are covered by thin sheets of corrosion resistant metal, such as Ti, Zr or Ta, the thin sheet on one face of the plate being welded to bushes which line the tube holes through the plate and are welded to another. Thin sheet on the opposite face of the tube plate. Specif. the two sheets extend radially outwards as far as the seals between the plate and the flanges of the shell and the end cover.</p> |
