<p>The wire winding spool support has a pair of frame members in which is mounted co-axially a pair of centres, one of which is driven and both are arranged for releasable attached to the ends of a hollow shaft for spool chaning. The support permits dynamically balanced and vibration free mounting of spools which are quickly releasable. The hollow shaft is a radially distensible mandrel for drivable supporting of the spool. THe distension is effected by axial displacement of a shaft provided with spring washers and conical elements which act on radially distensible elements. Opposite axial movement of the shaft results in radial collapsing of the mandrel for spool release.</p> |
