PURPOSE:To obtain a memory eliminating effect with respect to the residual toner having either of positive and negative polarities by respectively impressing DC voltage which has a reverse polarity to the electrostatically charged polarity of toner on a conductive brush on a transferring unit side and DC voltage which is the same polarity as the electrostatically charged polarity of the toner on the conductive brush on an exposing unit side. CONSTITUTION:The two conductive brushes 30 and 35 rubbing a photosensitive body 10 are provided, and the DC voltage of the reverse polarity to the electrostatically charged polarity of the toner is impressed on the conductive brush 30 on the transferring unit 25 side, and also the DC voltage of the same polarity as the electrostatically charged polarity of the toner is impressed on the conductive brush 35 on the exposing unit 15 side. And the residual toner on the photosensitive body 10 which has not been transferred is disturbed by the both conductive brushes 30 and 35, and at the same time, the photosensitive body 10 itself is electrostatically charged by the conductive brush 35 on the exposing unit 15 side. Thus, the memory eliminating effect with respect to the residual toner having either of the positive and negativek polarities which has not been transferred can be obtained. |
