Conveyor for boxless foundry moulds located in a horizontal stack with vertical joint lines along a stationary horizontal track (I). On each side of (I) is an endless driven chain mounted on two pairs of chain wheels, one pair at each end of (I). Between the stack of moulds and each of the two chains are thrust pads, mounted in a continuous row on the chains, and spring-loaded, so the pads are forced against the stack of moulds and move the latter along (I) when the chains are driven. The pads on one chain are pref. aligned with the pads on the other chain; and each pad pref. consists of a plate with a corrugated working surface pressed against the moulds. The upper section of the chains are provided with guides pushing the chains towards each other. The chain links are fitted with shafts on which the spring-loaded plates are mounted. Used to support relatively weak sand moulds during casting and cooling in an automatic process, and also to move the moulds along a casting track. Each mould is e.g. 500x200x60 mm in size, with wt. 102 kg.
