PURPOSE:To increase an image forming speed by moving the scanning start position of a scanning means according to the size of an original to be imposed on an original placing plate. CONSTITUTION:Projections, not shown in Fig., to indicate the sizes of paper P are formed at the front ends of respective cassettes 18a, 18b and are detected by a paper size detector 215 in a device body 1. A 1st optical carriage to be mounted with an exposing lamp 201 and 1st mirror 202 of an exposing device which is a scanning means and a 2nd optical carriage mounted with a 2nd mirror 204 and a 3rd mirror 206 are scanned via a wire by an exposing scanning motor 208 which is the driving means to be controlled by an image forming controller 200. The scanning means is scanned within the scanning range corresponding to the size of the original. The need for the execution of more than the required excessive scanning is eliminated and the image forming speed is increased. |
