<p>PURPOSE:To prevent heat loss during transportation and reduce temperature difference in each part of high-temperature ingot by attaching a heat loss preventing material lined with protecting paper to the part of a high-temperature ingot where heat loss is liable to occur. CONSTITUTION:An ingot 1 is transported on rolls 13a, 13b, 13c. A heat loss preventing material bonding device 14 has a freely rotating arm 15, and a vacuum sucking device 16 controlled by a controller is provided at the tip of the arm 15. An inorganic bonding agent on whole or partial surface of the outside (the side to be bonded to the ingot) of the heat loss preventing material. The heat loss preventing material 12 is placed in front of the transportation passage of the ingot 1 held by suction by an operation controller and a bonding device 14 which is actuated by instruction of the controller at stand-by positions 15', 16' of the bonding device 14. Then, the heat loss preventing material 12 released from suction by instruction of the controller that detected approach of the ingot 1 is placed and bonded to cover the tip of the ingot and transported with the ingot 1.</p> |
