Compounds of formula I I where R1, R2 and R3 are defined in the text, are useful as light stabilizers for polymeric materials, particularly for thermoplastic polymers and automotive finishes. Preferred compounds are those in which R1 is hydrogen and R2 and R3 are identical (C8-17alkyl)carbonyl groups.
